New Plays! One Night Only! A Rising Star! Berkshire Playwrights Lab’s 2008 Season July 30th at 8:00 pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center
Great Barrington, MA — Wednesday, July 30th at 8:00 pm, at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, the Berkshire Playwrights Lab continues its premiere season of presenting staged readings of exciting new plays with VARIATIONS ON A THEMEby the rising star playwright Anna Ziegler. Ziegler was recently selected to be a writer in residence at The Old Vic Theatre in London. Her plays have been developed at Sundance Theatre Lab, SoHo Rep, The Lark Theatre, Kennedy Center, and the Belvoir St. Theatre in Sydney, Australia. Directing the reading is Daniel Winerman, who has worked closely with the Berkshire Playwrights Lab since its founding. The Lab is proud to bring together this superb director and playwright for this reading.
Following a young playwright through her blossoming career and waning relationship, VARIATIONS ON A THEMEis a lyrical meditation on love and loss -- and a writer's power to put them in perspective.
This week the Berkshire Playwrights Lab will feature a brief question and answer session with the playwright and director following the reading.
Admission is FREE and open to the public. Reservations are recommended.

Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present more staged readings of new plays at the Mahaiwe with free admission on August 13 and August 27.
